The Poem: Verses from Gaza
Shattered dreams, unheard cries, broken homes, unconsidered plight,
Yet Gaza stands strong, unwavering in faith's guiding light.
( Sabreen Parray )
Today I awoke, smoke fills the air,
Yearning for a day free from sorrow and despair.
( Ahmed Rahim )
Oh World, can't you see the pain we bear?
Must lives be lost for you to truly care?
( Ahmed Rahim )
Smiling in a bit of rain, treasure in pain.
Will the blood wash away?
( Elena Lopez )
Hoarse-voiced we beckon Peace to the burning sea,
Even when flames catch skin, we plead: Peace, swim free.
( Katleho Shoro )
